Nikki Ballou
Nikki is the mother of three children and a dedicated student in the Radiological Technology program. Her nominator writes "she is an intelligent student who juggles school, her family and a full-time job."

Sim Covington
Sim is currently the Assistant Director of the Hudson Valley Community College Center for Careers & Employment, and he is continuing studies in educational administration at SUNY. His nominator describes "his professional demeanor and rapport with Hudson Valley Community College students is second to none."

Jill Denue
Jill is the mother of three children, the oldest of which requires specialized time-consuming attention because he was born with a rare skin condition (EB). Jill has done research on EB and now gives speeches/talks to dermatologists and pre-med students. Her nominator (her Mom) writes "Jill is always there for her children, while still striving to achieve her goals to further her career and become a nurse."

Julie Guzy
Julie currently works in the cashier's office and is pursuing a degree in Nursing. Julie's nominators have described her as patient, understanding, task oriented, knowledgeable, a hard worker and a great colleague. One nominator states "her quest to help people is truly admirable." Another nominator writes about Julie "I am confident her work ethic and determination will reap great rewards."

Bill Jojo
Bill is working on his second associate's degree and is planning to pursue his bachelor's degree. In addition to continuing his education, Bill is a full-time NTP and teaches two evening classes.

Rob Kwiatkowski
Rob's nominators write that Rob is taking courses at Hudson Valley Community College at an accelerated rate for an associate's degree. He will be pursuing his bachelor's degree and he "is very deserving of this award."

Brandy McAuthur-Parker
Brandy is pursuing her associates degree in Human Services. Her nominator writes "Her academic ability, motivation, and determination are evident."

Donna Raymond
Donna is a mother of two children and the current President of Phi Theta Kappa. Donna already has been accepted to the Albany Pharmaceutical College upon graduation from Hudson Valley.

Emily Rickard
Emily has been described by her nominator as highly dedicated, motivated, enthusiastic, a strong contributor in the classroom and very supportive of other students. As both a returning student and a parent who has overcome personal difficulties, she has dedicated herself to a career that will help improve the lives of others.

Ramona Rogers
Ramona is a hardworking single mother of two returning to school after being away for many years. Ramona is enrolled in the Computer Integrated Technology program which is a predominately male oriented field. Ramona faces these challenges and her nominator writes "She is a great model to other students. She always has her work done on time, is always respectful and polite and is not afraid to remind other student's of the importance of education."

Todd Suriano
Todd works in the college's Public Safety Office and is taking classes to achieve his associate's degree in Criminal Justice. His nominator writes "his education has a direct effect on his job performance. Todd achieved a 3.75 GPA despite working a full 40 hours each week."
