English as a Second Language (ESL) Information & Advisement

Hudson Valley Community College is one of only a few accredited schools of higher education to offer credit-bearing English composition classes to non-native speakers. The college also provides classes for those who need basic communication skills as well as for those who are interested in mastering their English.

The English, Foreign Languages and English as a Second Language Department faculty consists of experienced instructors with advanced degrees that include teaching English as a Second Language.

ESL Course Offerings

The college strives to meet the needs of students and members of the community with a range of both credit and non-credit classes.

  • ENGL 100E: Enhanced English Composition I for English as a Second Language Students
  • ENGL 101E: English Composition I for English as a Second Language Students
  • ENGL 102E English Composition II for English as a Second Language Students

ESL Advisement

The ESL Advisors provide information, guidance, and support for prospective and current students to help them make well-informed decisions when they register for classes through their program advisor.

Advisement is available by appointment. Appointments can be made for meeting in person or remotely via Zoom by using the contact information below.
