Hudson Valley Community College Foundation Awards Scholarships
This fiscal year, the Foundation disbursed more than $295,000 in scholarships to 419 Hudson Valley students from around the Capital Region.
A total of $46,000 in scholarships was awarded to 42 students at a spring reception and $164,000 in scholarships was awarded to 105 students at last fall’s reception.
In addition, the Foundation supported 182 area high school students through the college’s College in the High School program, twenty-three students receiving Second Chance scholarships, twelve students enrolled in the Teacher Preparation program, and eight students enrolled in the Summer Youth program.
Foundation scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria, including need, academic performance, civic involvement and academic program; the awards ranged from $40 for College in the High School courses to full tuition, books and fees.
