Classroom Orientations and Presentations

The Center for Counseling and Transfer (CCT) is always interested in better serving our students through outreach initiatives. We welcome the opportunity to visit your class and meet with your students.

To schedule an orientation or presentation, please contact the Center for Counseling and Transfer at (518) 629-7320.

When scheduling, please select from the following:

  • Office Overview Presentation
This is a 15 minute presentation that consists of a CCT counselor coming to your classroom to provide a brief overview of the Center for Counseling and Transfer. Topics to be covered include transfer counseling, personal/psychological counseling and CLEP/DSST testing. There will be time and opportunity for students to ask questions about the services we provide.

  • Brief CCT Tour and Orientation
This is an option for college forum instructors who prefer to bring their class to the CCT for a brief tour and orientation to our center. Please be aware that we are unable to provide formal presentations in our office as this would be disruptive to those students utilizing our services.

  • Transfer Presentation
This 45 minute presentation consists of a CCT counselor coming to your classroom to present information on the transfer process. The topics to be covered include how to select an appropriate college, the application process, financial aid/paying for college, majors/minors, transferability of credit/degrees and GPA requirements. There will be time and opportunity for students to ask questions.

  • Transfer and Personal Presentation
This is a 45 minute presentation that consists of a CCT counselor coming to your classroom to present information on the transfer process and detailed information about personal/psychological counseling and related topics. This presentation will not be as in depth in regards to the Transfer Process as it will include both aspects of the services the CCT provides. There will be time and opportunity for students to ask questions.

  • Topic-Specific Presentation
This is a 45 minute presentation that consists of a CCT counselor coming to your classroom to present information about alcohol/other drugs, stress management, anxiety and depression, eating disorders, communication skills, etc. relating to college students and their experiences. There will be time and opportunity for students to ask questions.
