The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team (3-2) rode a three-game winning streak into a matchup with NJCAA number-nine ranked, Herkimer County Community College on Saturday, Sept. 18. The Lady Vikings came away with a 2-0 loss as a game-tying goal was called off on a controversial call.
Hudson Valley competed and controlled the tempo for the majority of the first half before giving up a goal at the 42-minute mark of the first half. The Lady Vikings came out of the locker room motivated and put together a great goal that eventually would be called off due to a questionable handball violation against them with 13 minutes remaining in the game. Herkimer countered with its own goal run moments later, putting the game away 2-0.
The women will attempt to start another winning streak on Monday, Sept. 20 as they travel to Syracuse, NY to play Onondaga Community College.
