Lady Vikings, Lindsey Bradt, Establish National Records

It was announced today that Hudson Valley Community
College's 2000-01 women's basketball team established a new team free-throw
shooting record. The Lady Vikings, who finished the season with a 24-3
record, shot 70.7 percent from the foul line, narrowly beating the old
NJCAA Division III record (70.6 percent), which was established in 1997-98
by Fergus Falls Community College of Minnesota.
Additionally, freshman forward/guard Lindsey
Bradt of Albany, the NJCAA Division III Region III Player of the Year,
broke the individual mark, hitting 84.9 percent of her free-throw attempts.
Joanne Ihrig of New Jersey's Ocean County College held the old standard
(84.1 percent), done in 1997-98. Bradt came to Hudson Valley from Bishop
Maginn High School.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in
Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic
divisions; Business, Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences;
and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State
University of New York system, Hudson Valley Community College has an enrollment
of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance
learning initiatives and worker retraining.
