Albany's Lindsey Bradt Named Female Athlete Of The Year At Hudson Valley

Lindsey Bradt of Albany was recently presented with
Hudson Valley Community College's Lester Higbee Memorial Award, which is
given each year to the college's outstanding female athlete.
Bradt, a 5-foot-8 guard/forward, had an impressive
freshman campaign for the Lady Vikings, averaging 18.3 points, 7.0 rebounds
and 3.0 assists per game. Additionally, Bradt made 55 percent of her field-goal
attempts and recorded 75 steals in 27 games. Bradt also established a new
NJCAA Division III Region III free-throw-shooting mark, hitting 84.9 percent
of her attempts. Joanne Ihrig of Ocean County College held the old mark
(84.1 percent, done in 1997-98).
Bradt, who led the Lady Vikings to a 24-3 record,
came to Hudson Valley from Bishop Maginn High School.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in
Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic
divisions; Business, Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences;
and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State
University of New York system, Hudson Valley Community College has an enrollment
of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance
learning initiatives and worker retraining.
