Hudson Valley Women’s Basketball Falls to Herkimer

The Hudson Valley Community College (9-12) women’s basketball team suffered a 65-47 loss to Herkimer County Community College (13-9) this afternoon in Troy.
After trailing 36-19 at the half, Hudson Valley went on a 21-9 run to open the second half to cut its deficit to 45-40 with 10:35 remaining. However, that is the closest the Lady Vikings would get. Herkimer went on a 10-2 run over the next five minutes and came away with the win.
Sophomore Ann Schoff (Little Falls) paced Herkimer with 18 points.
Freshman Amber Batzold (Albany/Columbia High School) and sophomore Erika Russo (Salem/Salem High School) each posted double-doubles for Hudson Valley. Batzold had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Russo had 10 points and 13 boards.
The Vikings return to action on Monday, January 28 when they host Adirondack Community College at 7 p.m.
