Freshman forward Amber Batzold (Albany/Columbia High School) poured in 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (3-2/2-1 Region III) women’s basketball team to a 65-62 win at Herkimer County Community College (2-4/1-3 Region III) on Tuesday.

Hudson Valley shot a season-best 45.8 percent (27-for-59) from the floor in the win. Freshman forward Rachel Dooley (Grafton/Berlin High School) had 10 points and eight rebounds and sophomore guard Jenna Smith (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) contributed nine points, 12 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Hudson Valley returns to action on Sunday, November 18 when it visits Finger Lakes Community College.
