Hudson Valley Women's Basketball Defeats Schenectady

Freshman guard Stacey Swan (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) finished with a career-high 18 points to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (7-9) women's basketball team to a 49-27 win over Schenectady County Community College (0-13) earlier tonight in Troy.
It was the best defensive effort for Hudson Valley since only allowing 13 points to North Country Community College on Nov. 8, 2003.
Sophomore forward Elizabeth Ferenczy (Coxsackie/Coxsackie-Athens High
School) added 10 points and 11 rebounds, and sophomore forward Kate Collins (Eagle Mills/Tamarac High School) contributed five points, seven rebounds and three blocks for the Lady Vikings.
Monique White paced Schenectady with 12 points.
Hudson Valley will host Mohawk Valley Community College at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 22.
