Amanda Clapper Performs Well For
Wentworth College's Hoop Team

Amanda Clapper of Castleton, a Maple Hill graduate, now a junior forward at Division III Wentworth College of Boston, Mass., has found a home with the Leopards. Clapper, who graduated from Hudson Valley after the 1999-2000 campaign, scored 14 points for Wentworth in a 61-49 victory over Emerson College on November 30. She averaged 8.7 points during Wentworth's three most recent contests. Wentworth competes in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Clapper posted the fourth-best single-season rebounding total in Hudson Valley's history in 1999-2000. The 5-foot-9 player average 10.7 boards per game. She also averaged 9.0 points per game and contributed 36 steals and 23 assists. Clapper is studying Architectural Engineering at Wentworth.

"Wentworth is lucky to get Amanda," Hudson Valley women's coach Colleen Ferris said. "She's got a great nose for the ball, and she's fearless when it comes to fighting for rebounds. She knows how to come down with the ball."

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
