Women's Basketball Finishes Second at Tarantelli Classic

The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team finished second in the Tarentelli Classic hosted by Corning Community College over the weekend. Hudson Valley rolled to a 75-17 win over Erie Community College on Friday, but fell to Corning 45-44 in the championship game on Saturday.
The Lady Vikings finish the first semester with a 7-7 record and are 7-5 in Region III games.
Freshman guard Jocelyn Moy (Greenwich/Greenwich High School) finished with 23 points to lead Hudson Valley past Erie. Sophomore forward Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) had 21 points, and freshman forward Megan Baldwin (Glenmont/Bethlehem High School) contributed 15 points.
Moy netted 19 points for the Lady Vikings in the championship game. Cowart added nine points and 15 rebounds.
Hudson Valley will return to action at 5 p.m. on January 15 when the Lady Vikings travel to SUNY Delhi.
