The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day by hosting a basketball clinic for girls on Saturday, February 1. Attendees will learn some of the fundamentals of basketball from the Hudson Valley coaching staff and players. In addition, former University at Albany head women's basketball coach Mari Warner will be on hand to speak with the girls about Title IX, and how the opportunities for girls in sport has changed over the years.

Established in 1987, National Girls and Women in Sports Day calls attention to the positive influence of sports and fitness participation and advances the struggle for equality and access for women in sports.
