Bradt Excels As No. 4 Lady Vikings Topple Adirondack, 90-33

All-American Picks Up 25 Points, 10 Rebounds, Nine Steals And Five Assists

Troy, N.Y., February 12, 2002 – All-American guard/forward Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn H.S.) and her Hudson Valley Community College teammates gave the large McDonough Complex crowd plenty to cheer this evening. The Lady Vikings celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day by overseeing a halftime contest between a Cohoes modified team and a squad from the Brunswick basketball club, and they trounced Adirondack Community College, 90-33.

Bradt came out on fire, hitting her first nine field goal attempts, and Hudson Valley began the game with a 40-4 run. Bradt, who made 11-of-15 field goal attempts on the game, finished with a contest-high 25 points. She also contributed 10 rebounds, nine steals and five assists.

Bradt is averaging 21.0 points per game, third best in the nation among Division III junior college players.

Hudson Valley has now defeated Adirondack twice this season. The Lady Vikings, ranked No. 4 in the nation among NJCAA Division III teams, have won 11 of their last 12 games. Hudson Valley is 18-4 overall. Adirondack is 8-15.

Jill Valachovic (Schalmont H.S.) had 14 points and six rebounds for Hudson Valley. Tonya DeLaMater (Tamarac H.S.) had 12 points and five steals. Meghan Squires (Hoosic Valley H.S.) contributed 11 points and eight rebounds. Angela von Wergers (Bishop Gibbons H.S.) had nine points and 10 rebounds. Megan Davis (Greenwich H.S.) and Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes H.S.) also scored nine points each.
