Hudson Valley Women’s Basketball Falls to Holyoke

Freshman Erica Sperdudi (Northampton, MA) scored 12 of her team-high 15 points in the second half to lead the Holyoke Community College (9-11) women’s basketball team to a 53-44 win over Hudson Valley Community College (8-19) earlier today in Troy.
Holyoke trailed by as many as 10 points, 17-7, in the first half but the Cougars were able to cut the deficit to 23-20 at halftime and then scored the first six points of the second half to take a 26-23 advantage. Hudson Valley would tie the game on three more occasions but would never retake the lead.
Freshman forward Kelley Barnes (Rotterdam/Mohonasen High School) led Hudson Valley with 16 points. Sophomore guard Kristene Longendyke (Kingston/Kingston High School) added 13 points and sophomore forward Colleen Horan (Rotterdam/Mohonasen High School) contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds.
