Tennis defeats Monroe

The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team improved its record to 1-1 on the year with an 8-1 win over Monroe Community College on Sunday.
Hudson Valley swept four singles matches and received four forfeit points in the win.
Sophomore Kim Wintergerst (Glenville/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School) improved her record to 2-0 on the year with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Anna Lynarczyk. Freshmen Nellie Rustick (Claverack Chatham High School) and Jessica Newman (Castleton/Maple Hill High School) and sophomore Andrea Tedesco (North Greenbush/Columbia High School) also won in singles action for the Lady Vikings.
