Hudson Valley to Host Region III Baseball and Softball Tournaments This Weekend

Eight of the best junior college baseball and softball teams in New York State will converge on Troy this weekend to compete in their respective NJCAA Region III tournaments with a chance to advance to the NJCAA national championship tournament.

The Region III softball tournament teams are fourth seeded Hudson Valley Community College, No. 1 Monroe Community College, No. 6 Corning Community College and No. 2 Broome Community College. The winner will advance to the NJCAA Division III Softball Championship in Rochester, Minnesota.

Erie Community College returns to Joseph L. Bruno Stadium to defend its Region III baseball crown. The top-seeded Kats will meet No. 4 Genesee Community College at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 12. The second game will match No. 2 Herkimer County Community College against No. 6 Mohawk Valley Community College. The winner will advance to the NJCAA Division III Championship in Glens Falls.

Both events are four team double elimination tournaments. Tickets to both tournaments are $5 per day.
