Hudson Valley's Stephanie Goodspeed Named Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year

Stephanie Goodspeed (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School), who recently completed her sophomore season on the Hudson Valley Community College softball team, was named the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year for her performance during the 2004 season.
Goodspeed was joined on the Mountain Valley Conference First Team by freshmen Reality Price (East Greenbush/Columbia High School), Mindy McDonough (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School) and Annemarie Nelson (East Greenbush/Columbia High School).
Additionally, Jeff Beyer was named the Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season after leading the Lady Vikings to their third consecutive conference championship and a 25-10-1 record.
Goodspeed led Hudson Valley with a .453 (48-for-106) batting average. She had six doubles, three triples and 33 RBI. On the mound, Goodspeed was 14-6 with a 1.86 ERA. She struck out 122 batters in 124 innings.
Nelson, the Lady Vikings' center fielder, hit .436 (48-for-110) with 23 extra-base hits and a team-high 34 RBI. She finished with 15 doubles, five triples and three home runs.
McDonough, Hudson Valley's lead-off hitter and second baseman, hit .429 (45-for-105) and had a .523 on-base percentage. She scored 44 runs and had 28 RBI.
Price, a first baseman, batted .346 (36-for-104) with 22 runs and 20 RBI.
