The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's basketball team traveled to take on Tompkins Cortland Community College's squads Sunday, Nov. 1. Both Viking teams were dealt losses.
The men tried to battle back from an early game deficit in which they trailed 48-31 at halftime. Ramel Alexander (Berkshire, Albany) led the way with 18 points for Hudson Valley. Alexander played limited minutes due to foul trouble and injury. Jaret Falkowitz (Burnt Hills Balston Lake, Scotia) added 12 points and Kyle Mafrici (Colonie, Schenectady) chipped in another 11 to go along with five assists and zero turnovers in his first appearance as a Viking.
The Lady Vikings also got into a deep hole in the first half of their matchup with Tompkins Cortland. The halftime score was 56-28 in favor of the Panthers. In the second half, the Lady Vikings played their opponent even and lost, 87-60.
