Hudson Valley Men’s Basketball Tops Schenectady

Sophomore guard Emanuel Mayben (Troy/Troy High School) posted his second triple-double of the season in leading the Hudson Valley Community College (19-0) men’s basketball team to a 90-68 win at Schenectady County Community College (6-12) on Wednesday.
Despite shooting a season-low 39.1 percent (36-for-92) from the floor, Hudson Valley came away with 25 offensive rebounds. Mayben finished the game with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Sophomore forward Datwan Hemingway (Albany/CBA) posted his 18th consecutive double-double with 23 points and 21 rebounds.
Sophomore forward Derick Faragon (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) and sophomore guard Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) also finished with double-doubles. Faragon had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Gallo posted 18 points, 10 boards and six steals.
Hudson Valley, which is ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, returns to action Sunday, January 20 when it visits Tompkins Cortland Community College. The game begins at 2 p.m.
