Hudson Valley Men's Basketball Loses to Onondaga

The Hudson Valley Community College (11-5) men's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 85-82 loss to Onondaga Community College (9-4) tonight in Troy.

Hudson Valley led 82- 81 with 23 seconds remaining before Onondaga stole the ball in the backcourt and scored on a lay-up by Steve Siechen (East Syracuse) with 12 second remaining. The Vikings had one final shot but Ryne Luce's (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) contested shot in the lane went off the rim and Onondaga grabbed the rebound.

Sophomore guard Maurice Lane (Bakersfield, CA/West High School) led Hudson Valley with 21 points. Luce finished with 16 points and sophomore Zach Bye (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville High School) added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Siechen paced Onondaga with 19 points. Danny Smith (Canastota) added 16 points.
