Hudson Valley Men's Basketball Falls to Mohawk Valley

The Hudson Valley Community College (8-9) men's basketball team suffered a 73-65 loss to Mohawk Valley Community College (14-3) earlier today in Troy.
Hudson Valley trailed by 11 points, 67-56, with three minutes remaining in the game before a three-point basket by sophomore Aric Kucel (Gloversville/Gloversville High School) and a pair of baskets by freshman Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) helped cut the Hawks lead to three points, 67-64, with 1:30 remaining in the game.
However, Mohawk Valley made its final six free throws down the stretch to seal the contest.
Hunt finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks to lead Hudson Valley. Sophomore Maurice Frye (Middletown/Middletown High School) added 13 points and 10 boards, and freshmen Ryan Livingston (Bethlehem/LaSalle
Institute) and Marlon Sousis (Troy/Rensselaer High School) contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Mohawk Valley, which entered the game ranked No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, was led by sophomore Chris LaBoard's (Bronx/Redemption Christian Academy) 24 points.
