Former Hudson Valley Basketball Players Continue to Excel

Several former Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's basketball players continue to shine at their current four-year college or university. Here is a list of former Hudson Valley student-athletes that currently are playing basketball at a four-year college:

Women

Lindsey Bradt (Albany)
In her second season at Saint Michael's College, Lindsey Bradt is averaging 10.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. She ranks second on the team in rebounding and fourth on the club in scoring. Bradt has gone to the free throw line more than anyone else on her team, making 64 of 79 shots from the charity stripe. Saint Michael's is 6-12 on the season and 3-12 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Megan Davis (Greenwich)
A team captain at Oswego State, Megan Davis has started all 16 games at the point guard position for the Lakers. She is averaging 4.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists this season. She also has 41 steals. Oswego State is 13-3 this season and 7-1 in the SUNYAC.

Tanya DeLaMater (Troy)
In her first season at Green Mountain College, Tanya DeLaMater leads the Eagles in points and assists. Her top performances include 25 points at Montana State-Billings and at Saint Rose, and 21 points at Mansfield University. Green Mountain is 0-15 on the season.

According to Green Mountain head coach Megan Chawansky, "Tanya's been a team leader from the day she stepped on Green Mountain's campus. She's enthusiastic and continues to work hard and lead her teammates on and off the court."

Meghan Squires (Johnsonville)
In her senior season at Brockport State, Meghan Squires leads the Golden Eagles in scoring with 10.4 points per game. She also is averaging 5.8 rebounds per game, and has 14 blocks in 14 games. Brockport is 3-11 this season.

Angela Von Wergers (Albany)
A junior at Ferrum College, Angela Von Wergers is averaging 4.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Savannah College of Art and Design on November 29. Ferrum is 9-6 this season and is tied for first in the USA South Athletic Conference.

Men

Joe Bell (Albany)
Joe Bell is in his senior season at SUNY New Paltz. A team captain, he currently is averaging 6.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. New Paltz is 5-10 on the season.

Paul Bowe (Hudson Falls)
Paul Bowe has started six of 15 games at Norwich University this season, helping the Cadets to a 12-4 record. Norwich stands in first place in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Bowe is averaging 5.3 points, 3.8 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

Markael Brace (Albany)
In his first year at North Carolina Central University, Markael Brace has helped the Eagles to a 9-7 record. North Carolina Central stands in first place in the Western Division of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and is ranked eighth in the latest NCAA Division II South Atlantic poll. Brace is averaging 3.9 points, 2.1 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game.
