FOR RELEASE: Immediate, Thursday, June 8, 2006

Roger Manion of Ballston Lake has been named the head lacrosse coach at Hudson Valley Community College.

Manion coached lacrosse at Hudson Valley from 1990 to 1999, leading the Vikings to the Region III Tournament in eight of his 10 years. His teams posted a 94-49 record during his tenure and he was named the Region III Coach of the Year in 1991, 1993 and 1995.

“Roger had a very successful coaching career in his previous 10 years at Hudson Valley,” said Athletic Director Tom Reinisch. “We are extremely happy he has decided to return and fully expect to have one of the top lacrosse teams in Region III under his direction.”

Following his time at Hudson Valley, Manion was the head lacrosse coach at Siena College from 2000 to 2004 and has served as an assistant coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute the last two seasons.

Manion holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Psychology from the University at Albany.
