FOR RELEASE: Immediate, Tuesday, June 8, 2004
Eric DeSalvatore (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) and Andrew Dushensky (Colonie/Colonie High School), who both recently completed their sophomore season at Hudson Valley Community College, have each sign a National letter of Intent to play lacrosse at Robert Morris University next year.
DeSalvatore led Hudson Valley in scoring in 2004. He had 41 goals and 19 assists as Hudson Valley's leading attacker. An All-Mountain Valley Conference performer in 2004, he finished his two-year Hudson Valley career with 73 goals and 34 assists.
"Eric is a crafty attackman who will be the only veteran on our offense," Robert Morris head coach Kenneth Davis said. "We will rely on him to be the quarterback of our team."
Dushensky earned Second Team All-Region III accolades in 2004. Hudson Valley's top defender, Dushensky also had three goals and five assists.
"Andrew will be one of three junior college close defense players coming in for us," Davis said. "We think his veteran play along with the play of the other two incoming recruits will help make for a mature defense."
Robert Morris, located Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is entering its inaugural season
Hudson Valley finished the 2004 season with an 8-3 record and advanced to the Region III Tournament for the first time since 1999.
