Lacrosse 2013 Season Preview
Entering the 2013 season, the men’s lacrosse team seeks its fourth conference championship in the last five years. Coach Hayes begins his fourth year as head coach of the Vikings and looks to make it back to the Regional Final Four.
Andrew Reilly (Bethlehem/Bethlehem) is coming off an impressive freshman campaign where he recorded 394 saves in goal. Sophomore Joe Moore (Schenectady/Schenectady) is a defensive middie who creates turnovers with his speed and physicality. He is often assigned the opposing team’s best player and always welcomes the challenge. Paul Bennett (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) is the team’s leading returning scorer, having recorded 22 goals and 12 assists in the 2012 season. Liam Christensen (Bethlehem/Glenmont) was a heavily recruited four-year starter who will help bolster the Vikings’ offense. Also out of Bethlehem, is Eric Halek (Bethlehem/Delmar) who will be a big scoring threat at the attack position. Edward Francis (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park), Jeff Multari (Albany Academy/Albany), Nick Kimmerer (Shenendehowa/Halfmoon) and Mike Werner (Saugarties/Saugarties) are all quality defensemen who will help solidify the Viking’s backline.
