Hudson Valley Community College Ice Hockey Prepares for Shot at National Title

The Hudson Valley Community College ice hockey team is preparing for a shot at a national title this week. The team received its fourth invitation to the NJCAA National Tournament in school history. The Vikings finished the season with a Region III record of 8-4-3, and an overall record of 15-6-4.
Despite finishing the season in third place in both Region III and the latest NJCAA poll, Hudson Valley Community College was given the fourth seed in the upcoming National Tournament. The Vikings will play host to the No. 5 seed, Mohawk Valley Hawks, in the first round on Friday, Feb. 27. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the Saranac Lake Civic Center. The winner will go on to face the No. 1 seed Erie Community College Kats in the semi-finals on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m.
In three meetings with Mohawk Valley Community College this season, the Vikings are 1-0-2 with the most recent game ending in a 1-1 tie in Utica.
