Hudson Valley Ice Hockey Defeats Erie

The Hudson Valley Community College (7-6-2/3-4-0 Region III) ice hockey team improved its unbeaten streak to six games with a 3-2 win over Erie Community College (6-6-1/1-5-1 Region III) on Friday afternoon in Troy.
Freshman Eric Park (Los Angeles, CA/Green Pastures Academy) scored the game-winning goal for Hudson Valley with 47 seconds remaining in the game.
Erie took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission on a power play goal by Kevin Lufkin (West Seneca) with 2:43 remaining in the opening period.
Hudson Valley responded to take the lead in the second period with power play goals from freshman Dane Anderson (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) and sophomore Chris Gramlich (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt High School).
Erie tied the contest with 10:28 remaining in the third period on a goal by David Duke (Amherst).
Freshman goaltender Devon Lent (Ballston Spa/Saratoga Springs High School) stopped 13 shots to pick up the win for the Vikings.
Hudson Valley, which has won three straight games and is 4-0-2 in its last six games, is off until it hosts the University at Albany's club team on January 26.
