Hudson Valley Community College's hockey
team opens up the second half of the 2000-01 season with a home contest
on Friday, January 12. The Vikings will host Erie Community College at
the Conway Ice Arena, in the college's McDonough Sports Complex, at 3 p.m.
Hudson Valley (9-4) is in second-place
in the Eastern Junior College Hockey League. Hudson Valley and Erie last
met on November 18, with the Vikings winning the road contest, 7-4. The
Vikings are led by goaltender Jason Vasco (CBA), who has a 2.13 goals against
average, and forward Dean Vandervort (North Burlington, NJ), who has 28
points (12 goals, 16 assists).
Hudson Valley Community College, located in
Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic
divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences;
and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State
University of New York system, Hudson Valley Community College has an enrollment
