Hudson Valley Hockey Skates Past East Coast Rangers

The Hudson Valley Community College (5-6-2) ice hockey team got two goals apiece from freshman Dane Anderson (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) and sophomore Brent Fryer (Delmar/Bethlehem High School) in an 8-3 win over the East Coast Rangers Saturday evening in Troy.

Hudson Valley took a 4-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the game on goals by Fryer, freshmen Eric Park (Los Angeles, CA/Green Pastures Academy) and Kevin O'Connell (Schenectady/Colonie High School) and sophomore Brian Maher (Bethlehem/Bethlehem High School).

Sophomore Chris Gramlich (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt High School) also scored for Hudson Valley.

Sophomore goaltender Carmen Guyer (Melrose/Hoosic Valley High School) stopped 27 shots to earn the win and improve his record to 2-0-1 on the season.

Hudson Valley, which is 3-1-2 in its last six outings, will host the Rangers again at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 8.
