Ice Hockey Downs Suffolk for Second Straight Win

The Hudson Valley Community College (2-1) completed the weekend two-game sweep of Metropolitan College Hockey Conference foes with a 9-4 victory over Suffolk Community College on Sunday in Troy.

Hudson Valley scored five goals in the opening period. Sophomore Brian Maher (Bethlehem/Bethlehem High School) netted two goals in the opening period and freshman Jonathan Pritchard (Dayton, OH/Fairmont High School) tallied the first of his two goals in the game with 3:04 remaining in the opening period.

Also netting goals in the game for Hudson Valley were sophomore Mike Devoid (Berwick, ME/Noble High School) and freshmen Eric Park (Los Angeles, CA/Green Pastures Academy), Jeff Reinhart (Troy/Lansingburgh High School), Kevin O’Connell (Schenectady/Colonie High School) and Dane Anderson (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy).

Sophomore goaltender Carmen Guyer (Melrose/Hoosic Valley High School) stopped 15 shots to pick up the win in net for the Vikings.
