Hudson Valley Hockey Defeats Canton

The Hudson Valley Community College (11-7-1/6-6-1 Region III) ice hockey team completed its regular season with a 5-3 win over SUNY Canton (12-12-0/7-6-0 Region III) earlier today in Troy. Hudson Valley will await a NJCAA Tournament bid that will be announced tomorrow.

Freshman Jeff Beecher (South Glens Falls/South Glens Falls High School) recorded his fourth hat track of the season for Hudson Valley with three goals and an assist. He currently leads Hudson Valley with 42 points (21 goals, 21 assists).

Sophomore Mike Van Baaren (Albany/LaSalle Institute) and freshman Drew Luther (Guilderland/Guilderland High School) each had third period goals for the Vikings. Freshman Chris Gramlich (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt High School) and sophomore Devin Krichbaum (Pattersonville/Sault Ste Marie, MI High School) contributed three and two assists, respectively.

Freshman Andrew DeCristoforo (Greely, ONT) had two goals and an assist to lead Canton.

Sophomore goalie Bryan McDonald (Ballston Lake/Shenendehowa High School) stopped 29 shots to pick up the win in net for Hudson Valley.
