Hudson Valley Hockey Falls to Erie 4-2

The Erie Community College ice hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the third period to defeat Hudson Valley Community College earlier today in Troy.
Hudson Valley, which entered the contest riding a four-game winning streak, drops its record to 6-4-1 and 2-4-1 in Region III. Erie improves to 7-4-1 overall and 6-3-0 in Region III.
Freshman forward Kenny Holvig (New City/Clarkstown South High School) slapped the puck in the net, 7:03 into the opening period, to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead.
After a second period goal by Erie tied the game at 1-1, freshman defenseman Devin Krichbaum (Pattersonville/Sault Area (MI) High School) scored from just inside the offensive blue line to give the Hudson Valley a 2-1 advantage with 16:41 remaining in the contest.
However, two minutes later, the Katz tied it up on a goal by Greg Pane (Maryvale High School), and then took the lead with 5:43 left in the game on a goal by Will Meister (Orchard Park High School).
Hudson Valley will travel to SUNY Canton on Saturday, January17 for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
