Hudson Valley Skates to a 1-1 Tie With Mohawk Valley

The Hudson Valley Community College (5-3-1/2-3-1 Region III) ice hockey team skated to 1-1 tie with Mohawk Valley Community College (2-4-1/1-3-1 Region III) earlier tonight in Troy.
Freshman defenseman Devin Krichbaum (Pattersonville/Sault Area, MI High School) gave Hudson Valley a 1-0 lead, 3:46 into the third period, when he skated in front of the crease and poked one past the goalkeeper. His goal was assisted by freshman defenseman Jeff Weaver (Abington, PA/Uppermoreland High School).
The Hawks tied that game on a goal by sophomore forward Jake Monroe (Utica) with 6:59 remaining in regulation.
Neither team was able to create a good scoring opportunity in the overtime.
Freshman goaltender Bryan McDonald (Ballston Lake/Shenendehowa High School) made 16 saves for the Vikings before being replaced near the end of the second period by freshman Alex Glessing (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School), who stopped eight shots.
