Ice Hockey Wins at Middlebury

The Hudson Valley Community College (4-12) ice hockey team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over Middlebury JV on Sunday in Middlebury. The format of the game was two 25-minute periods.
Hudson Valley and Middlebury went into the intermission tied at 1-1. The Vikings went up 3-1 early in the second period on goals by sophomore Brett Holmes (Claverack/Hudson High School) and freshman Sean Caruso (Waterford/LaSalle Institute).
After a Middlebury goal cut the Vikings lead to 3-2 with 12:53 remaining, Holmes and sophomore Jeff Reinhardt (Troy/Lansingburgh High School) iced the game for Hudson Valley with goals at 14:08 and 15:07 respectively.
Sophomore Kevin O'Connell (Colonie/Colonie High School) scored the first period goal for Hudson Valley and sophomore Dane Anderson (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) had three assists in the game.
