The Hudson Valley Community College cross country team finished third out of four teams at the Golden Knights Joust hosted by The College of Saint Rose on Friday, Hudson Valley was the only non-NCAA Division II college to field a full team.

Hudson Valley finished with 65 points, which was just nine points behind second place Pace University and ahead of Saint Thomas at Aquinas College. Saint Rose won the event.

Kalynn Wren earned medalist honors for Hudson Valley, finishing 10th out of 34 runners. She covered the 5,000-meter course at the Crossings in Colonie in 22:26. Her teammate, Sarah Popovics finished in 11th place, just 13 second behind Wren. Popvics sprinted past Pace's Jenna Mayo over the final 40 yards to earn her position.

Hudson Valley will compete in the University of Albany Invitational this Saturday, October 13.
