Bowling

11/01/2012
2012-13 Season Preview

The men’s bowling team has three returners from last year: Michael Hartmann (Coxsackie-Athens/Earlton), Brendon O’Donnell (Averill Park/Poestenkill) and Michael Kincy (Oak Harbor/Oak Harbor, WA). Hartmann is expected to have an outstanding year, providing the leadership the team needs for a successful season. Overall, the men’s team should be very competitive despite having only three returners on the squad. Joe Wolfrum (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) is the top incoming freshman and will play an integral part in the overall success of the team. Wolfrum was Capital District Bowler of the Year last season. It will be another competitive team that seeks a fourth consecutive conference championship.

The women’s team is completely new, with no returners from last year. Young and talented, the team could surprise some others in the conference this season. As the top incoming freshman for the women, Elizabeth Pratt (Lansingburgh/Troy) is expected, with her vast experience, to provide the leadership the team needs to grow. Megan Rzeszuto (Colonie/Schenectady), Chelsea Smith (Hoosic Valley/Melrose) and Jennifer Lynch (Colonie/Utica) will also play an integral role in the overall success of the team’s run for a conference championship.
