Hudson Valley Bowlers Finished Second at Region III Tournament

The Hudson Valley Community College men’s and women’s bowling teams each finished second at the NJCAA Region III tournament on Sunday at Pin-O-Rama Lanes in Utica.

The Hudson Valley men scored a 9,372, which trailed regional champion Erie Community College by 211 pins. Sophomore Matt Lieberman (Averill Park/Averill Park High School), freshman Ryan Chestnut (Latham/Shaker High School) and sophomore Nick Harris (Latham/Shaker High School) all earned First Team All-Region recognition for their performance. Lieberman tied for the top spot out of 44 bowlers in the overall standings with 1,685 pins. Chestnut finished fourth with 1,641 pins and Harris was fifth with 1,638 pins.

Sophomore Kristina Jenkins (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) was the top bowler for Hudson Valley’s women. She earned All-Region recognition for finishing fourth out of 27 bowlers with 1,480 pins.

Hudson Valley will complete its season at the NJCAA national championship on March 9-10 in Buffalo.
