Hudson Valley Baseball Splits with Ulster

The Hudson Valley Community College (10-9) baseball team split a doubleheader at Ulster County Community College on Sunday. Hudson Valley dropped a 2-0 decision in the opener and rebounded for a 3-0 win in the nightcap.
Freshman Nate Novak (Hudson/Hudson High School) was three-for-four with an RBI to lead Hudson Valley to the win in the second game. Sophomore Nick Testo (Wynantskill/Troy High School) and freshman Ben Bushy (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls High School) each also drove in a run for the Vikings.
Four pitchers combined on a two-hitter for Hudson Valley in the nightcap.
Sophomore Mark Pennisi (Troy/Troy High School) pitched the first three innings to pick up the win.
Mike Van Waganen hit a two-run home run in the second inning to lead Ulster in the opening game.
Testo had two hits for Hudson Valley in the opener.
