  • The William Gundry Broughton Charitable Private Foundation awarded $20,000 to support College in the High School scholarships.
  • The State Education Department P-TECH program awarded funds to provide youth in the Capital Region support to earn a degree in computer science or cybersecurity at Hudson Valley. This grant is part of a collaborative proposal between Watervliet Central School District, Capital Region BOCES, Hudson Valley Community College, Schenectady County Community College and local industry. Capital Region BOCES is the lead agency.

  • The Arnold Cogswell Health Fund of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region granted $15,000 to expand and renovate the existing nursing laboratories.
  • The Bender Scientific Fund of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region awarded $10,000 to upgrade physiological teaching kits.

  • The Empire State Development Grants Program awarded $75,000 through the Consolidated Funding Application to equip a direct current application laboratory, residential and commercial construction wiring laboratory, electric power systems laboratory, industrial motor control laboratory, industrial wiring laboratory, and industrial power electronics laboratory at the college’s renewable energy facility located in Malta, NY.
  • The Hearst Foundation awarded $100,000 to fund the expansion of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology training facility.
  • The McCarthy Charities granted $5,000 to provide tuition assistance for Troy children to attend the college’s Children’s Summer Programs.
  • Firehouse Subs Foundation granted $18,995 to purchase a Lifepak15 automatic defibrillator to train emergency medical technology and paramedic students using this life-saving device.

  • SUNY High Needs Program awarded $90,263 to accredit the Health Information Management and Technology program. Funds will be used to revise the curriculum, and to provide administrative over-site and support.
  • The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region – Community Impact Grant awarded $8,600 to purchase an ADA compliant ramp for the McDonough Sports Complex.
  • JP Morgan Chase granted $230,000 to purchase mechatronics equipment.

  • The National Science Foundation awarded a $2,151,310 grant to expand the nanotechnology and semiconductor training opportunities provided by The Northeast Advanced Technological Education Center (NEATEC).
  • The McCarthy Charities granted $5,000 to provide tuition assistance for Troy children to attend the college’s Children’s Summer Programs.
  • The National Cancer Institute (part of the National Institutes of Health) awarded funds to integrate a tobacco cessation training program into the nursing department curriculum. This grant is part of a collaborative proposal with Albany Medical College as the lead applicant.
  • The William Gundry Broughton Charitable Private Foundation awarded $15,000 to support College in the High School scholarships.

2013

  • The American Library Association in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Humanities awarded the library $1,700 to host the national tour of the traveling exhibition Changing America: The Emancipation Proclamation, 1863 and the March on Washington, 1963.
  • The State Education Department Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program awarded funds to provide underserved youth in the City of Troy instructional and financial support to earn a degree in advanced manufacturing or biotechnology / biomanufacturing at Hudson Valley. This grant is part of a collaborative proposal between the Troy City School District, Questar III BOCES, Hudson Valley Community College and local industry. Troy City School District is the lead agency.
  • The State Education Department P-TECH program awarded funds to provide youth in the Ballston Spa Central School District support to earn a degree in clean energy at Hudson Valley. This grant is part of a collaborative proposal between the Ballston Spa Central School District, Hudson Valley Community College and local industry. Ballston Spa Central School District is the lead agency.
  • WGY Christmas Wish awarded $250 to provide tuition assistance for children to attend the college’s Children’s Summer Programs.
  • The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded the library the “Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle” film set and $1,200 for programming.
  • The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region – Community Impact Grantmaking awarded $5,000 to purchase ADA compliant lab benches.
  • The MVMA Foundation granted $4,000 to support nursing scholarships.
  • SUNY High Needs Program awarded $272,960 to sustain and expand biotechnology training. Funds will be used to add course modules pertinent to respective employers as well as purchase equipment.
  • SUNY Entrepreneur in Residence Program (EIR) awarded funds to leverage the experiences of the Albany Small Business Development Center and add an EIR who will focus specifically on enhancing the entrepreneurial environment on participating campuses. This grant is part of a collaborative proposal with the University at Albany and SUNY Cobleskill.

  • The National Endowment for the Humanities Bridging Cultures initiative awarded the library the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf collection.
  • The Standish Family Foundation (mini grant program) donated $500 to support the children’s programs associated with the Library’s Abraham Lincoln exhibit.

2012

  • The Capital District Library Council awarded $1,500 to the library to catalog unique college publications.
  • The US Department of Labor granted Hudson Valley $95,864 to support initiatives in its semiconductor program. This grant is part of a collaborative proposal with other SUNY community colleges.
  • The Bender Scientific Fund of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region awarded $9,811 to purchase an aquatic tank research system to raise zebrafish in the college’s teaching laboratories.
  • New York State Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) granted $130,421 to expand the college’s solar workforce training initiative.
  • Stewart’s Holiday Match awarded $1,750 to provide tuition assistance for children to attend the college’s Children’s Summer Programs.
  • The McCarthy Charities granted $1,500 to provide tuition assistance for Troy children to attend the college’s Children’s Summer Programs.

  • The M&T Charitable Foundation granted $50,000 (over 5 years) to support TEC-SMART.
  • Cohoes Savings Foundation donated $8,000 to support the Second Chance Scholarship Program.
  • The National Science Foundation awarded a $2,999,282 grant to establish a Regional Center for Semiconductor and Nanotechnology Education (RCSNE), which will prepare students for careers in these growing industries.
  • The State Education Department awarded $100,000 to support the expansion of merit-based scholarships and the administration of the overall scholarship program. These scholarships offer assistance to students of high academic achievement who are in need of financial assistance.

  • New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) awarded $1,250,000 to Hudson Valley to replicate its successful photovoltaic training courses at six colleges: SUNY Canton, Clinton Community College, North Country Community College, Erie Community College, Fulton-Montgomery Community College and SUNY Institute of Technology. Funds will also be used to complete geothermal workforce training at Hudson Valley, Erie Community College, SUNY Canton and SUNY Delhi.
