This course is for undergraduate and graduate learners, new project managers, team members, and individuals who are preparing to sit for their CAPM® certification exam. This course satisfies the 23 hours of project management education requirement that allows eligible candidates to sit for the CAPM exam. The CAPM certification is for individuals new to or with limited experience in the field of project management and who do not meet the requirements for the PMP exam.

The course explores the terminology, tools and techniques that are required to take a project from the initiating process to planning, executing, controlling and closing. Course content includes: applying project initiation tools and techniques in order to develop a project charter and stakeholder management strategy; developing a flexible and practical project management plan covering the major project lifecycle processes and phases; explaining project execution's relationship to project planning, the factors that contribute to success, and the tools and techniques used; applying monitoring, control, and closing techniques to measure progress on the project and forecast project completion requirements; performing the sequence of steps a project manager must take to ensure a smooth project close and improvement on future projects and demonstrating exam strategies in preparation for the CAPM certification exam.

Prior to enrolling in this course, you should have an understanding of project management, process management, project management knowledge areas, and process groups, as this course provides a high-level overview of these concepts. The PMP certification is for individuals who have significant experience in leading or directing projects and who meet the minimum three years of project management experience with a bachelor's degree, or minimum five-years of project management experience with a high school diploma or global equivalent.

This course is for individuals who are familiar with Six Sigma Black Belt principles and are seeking to obtain a Black Belt Certification. Learners are expected to have a basic knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma processes, as well as statistics, project management, process management, project management knowledge areas, process groups, and Lean Six Sigma. Although it is not required that learners hold a certificate in Six Sigma Green Belt prior to taking this course, those learners with a Six Sigma Green Belt certification may benefit from their prior knowledge and understanding of overlapping concepts in both exams.

This course provides an overview of the key concepts for the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification exam. It explores process and team management, operational metrics, and key tools and techniques to achieve process excellence.
