Holiday Weekend Recreational Skating Hours Announced at Hudson Valley Rink

The Conway Ice Arena at Hudson Valley Community College will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will be open for regular public skating from Friday through Sunday of the holiday weekend.

Public skating hours are from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, and from 4 to 6:15 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Robert M. Conway Jr. Arena is located within the McDonough Sports Complex on the Hudson Valley Community College campus at 80 Vandenburgh Ave., Troy.

Admission for public skating is $3 for adults 18 and over, and $2 for children or persons over 60. Hudson Valley students are admitted free with a student I.D.

The Conway Arena offers a discount to groups of 10 or more. Information can be obtained by calling 629-4850.

Skate and helmet rentals are available at the arena, with sizes from toddler-6 through men's hockey skates in size 14. Skate rentals are $3 per pair and helmets are $1.

Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the SUNY system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning and workforce training.
