Promotions in Continuing Education Announced at Hudson Valley Community College

Several Hudson Valley Community College employees recently received promotions.
Christine Helwig of Poestenkill will be in charge of the Community and Professional Education Office, including all non-credit courses and the scheduling office. Helwig has been with the college since 1980, and previously served as interim dean of continuing education and assistant director of continuing education.
Richard E. Bennett III of Schenectady has been appointed director of continuing education and summer session, overseeing the college's Evening Division courses and academic advisement for non-matriculated students. He has been with the college since 1989 and previously served as assistant director of continuing education.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certification programs in four academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Business; as well as and programs run through the Educational Opportunities Center offering certification programs in workforce and academic preparation. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
