FOR RELEASE: Immediate, Thursday, August 9, 2001

The Cashier's Office at Hudson Valley Community College is pleased to announce that Albany County and Saratoga County will provide representatives to issue Certificates of Residence to enrolling students from their counties from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15. The county representatives will be located in the college's Guenther Enrollment Services Center lobby during the above-mentioned four-hour timeframe.

Typically, prospective students must obtain a Certificate of Residence from designated locations within their county of residence and submit it with their payment to the Cashier's Office as part of the college's registration process. August 15 will be an opportunity for Albany and Saratoga County residents to obtain a Certificate of Residence at the college, though.

Students interested in taking advantage of this opportunity must present a valid driver's license, which must have been issued before August 27, 2000.

The Cashier's Office is always able to present Certificates of Residence to Rensselaer County residents who present a valid driver's license that was issued at least one year prior to the start of the semester.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
