Keith Nelson is New Chief Information Officer at Hudson Valley Community College

Keith Nelson has been named chief information officer at Hudson Valley Community College.
As the college’s chief information officer, he directs the implementation and usage of all academic and administrative computing at Hudson Valley, including the college’s information technology infrastructure as well as campus telephone and voice mail systems. The college’s Computer Services Department, which Nelson now oversees, installs and maintains more than 2,500 microcomputers on campus as well as computer labs at the college’s Albany Extension Center.
Nelson comes to the post after serving as Director of Telecommunications and Networking at The University of Texas at Austin. He also served as Chief Information Officer at Macomb Community College.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
