Cohoes Student Alyssa Cavosie Honored by Hudson Valley Community College \"Photo

Alyssa Cavosie

Alyssa Cavosie of Cohoes, NY, a 2008 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College's Individual Studies program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.

Cavosie received the Eugenia M. Staerker Individual Studies Award, which is given to an outstanding graduate of the Individual Studies program. Cavosie, who served as Student Senate President while at Hudson Valley, will continue her studies as a business major at SUNY Albany, concentrating in marketing and management.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate's degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
