Berlin Student Amber Maxon Honored by Hudson Valley Community College \"Photo

Amber Maxon of Berlin, a 2007 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Physical Education program, was recently honored by the college.

Maxon received the The Sage College of Albany Transfer Excellence Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the Physical Education program. She plans to continue her education in Sage College of Albany’s Physical Education bachelor’s degree program. An honor student at Hudson Valley, Maxon was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
