Clifton Park Student Daniel Fogarty Honored by Hudson Valley Community College \"Photo

Daniel Fogarty of Clifton Park, a 2007 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Broadcast Communications program, was recently honored by the college.

Fogarty received the Academic Excellence and Outstanding Service in Broadcast Communications Award. He was an honor student and plans to continue his education in broadcast journalism. While at Hudson Valley, he also was a member of the men’s soccer team and served as freshman class president. In addition to being Student Senate president during his second year, he served as vice president of the State University of New York Student Assembly. He was the first community college student to ever serve on the organization’s executive board.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
