Clifton Park Student Tami Colwell Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Tami Colwell of Clifton Park, a 2007 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Human Services program, was recently honored by the college.
Colwell received the Human Services Award for Excellence, which is given to the outstanding graduate in the Human Services program. She hopes to enter the University at Albany’s School of Social Welfare. While at Hudson Valley, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for students at two-year colleges.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
