What's the capital of Syria?

Who is the only singer to have seven consecutive No. 1 singles?

Fifteen high school teams from around the Capital District will gather at Hudson Valley Community College, Wednesday, March 28, for the Viking Challenge, a fast-paced general knowledge test for teams of student participants. This is the fifth year for the computerized trivia challenge, which is based on the popular board game, Trivial Pursuit.

The competition begins at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center on the Hudson Valley Community College campus. The public is invited to attend.

Participating teams this year include: Academy of Holy Names, Averill Park High School, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, Catholic Central High School, Christian Brothers Academy, Colonie High School, Lansingburgh High School, La Salle Institute, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, Rensselaer High School, Schuylerville High School, Voorheesville High School, Waterford-Halfmoon High School and Watervliet High School.

The first place team will bring back to their school a Pentium-level computer, courtesy of Computer Professionals International. Members of the winning team will also receive a $500 scholarship if they choose to attend Hudson Valley Community College.

The event is sponsored by the college's Office of Sponsored Programs and Educational Outreach.
